Rick Anderson is the university librarian at Brigham Young University, where he has been serving since September 1, 2020. A BYU alum, Anderson earned both a bachelor’s degree in family science and a master’s degree in library and information science from Brigham Young University.
He has held positions at various academic institutions, garnering experience in library leadership and scholarly communication. He has held roles such as associate dean for collections and scholarly communication at the J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah, bibliographer at YBP Library Services, head acquisitions librarian at the UNC Greensboro, and director of resource acquisition at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Additionally, Anderson has written three books and numerous articles on librarianship and scholarly communication, including regular contributions to the Scholarly Kitchen. He has also taken part in the scholarly community through his advisory roles in organizations like bioRxiv, Elsevier, JSTOR, and Oxford University Press.
