Parris K. Egbert is a professor of computer science at BYU. He obtained his PhD from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1992. He was department chair of the Computer Science Department at BYU from 2008 to 2014 and is the director of the Advanced 3D Computer Graphics Lab.
Egbert’s research interests include computer graphics, animation, rendering, fluid simulation, crowd simulation, and photorealistic rendering. He received the 2022–2023 BYU Alumni Professorship Award and was a finalist in the E3 College Game Competition hosted by the Entertainment Software Association in 2015. He has been published in many academic journals and has presented his research at various conferences.
