Dr. J. Michael Pinegar was the Joel C. Peterson Professor of Finance in Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.
Dr. Pinegar earned his master of business administration and doctor of philosophy degrees from the University of Utah and his bachelor of arts degree in German from BYU. He joined the university faculty in 1988 after six years on the finance faculty at the University of Iowa.
Professor Pinegar taught corporate finance to MBA students and to students in the master of accountancy (MAcc) and master of information systems management (MISM) programs. His research focused on corporate finance and investments.
Brother Pinegar and his wife, the former Rebecca McConkie, have eight children.
