Jared T. Blanchard spoke as a representative of his student body at BYU Commencement on April 26, 2018 after studying mechanical engineering at BYU from 2011 to 2018. Blanchard went on to earn his master’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics engineering from Stanford University in 2020. He set aside his studies to serve a full-time mission in Spain from 2012 to 2014. He is currently a PhD candidate at Stanford and interns in the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.
