Jim Slaughter currently serves as university chaplain, working with students of other faiths, and as an assistant dean of students in Campus Life. He is a graduate of Ricks College and Brigham Young University. He began his BYU career in 1994 as a building supervisor. He has also worked in the Multicultural Student Services office and directed Campus Life Events and Services as well as overseeing Extramural Sports. Jim has been serving as chaplain for the past 10 years.
Jim was raised in northern California, Montana, and western Washington. He and his wife, Pam, have four children and five grandchildren. They all share a love of the outdoors and particularly the Island Park and Yellowstone areas. His greatest joy comes from his family and seeing them happy and living good lives.
