Gilbert W. Fellingham is a professor of statistics at Brigham Young University. Dr. Fellingham earned his BA in mathematics from Occidental College and then came to BYU, earning master’s degrees in both physical education and statistics. He later went on to obtain a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in biostatistics from the University of Washington. Dr. Fellingham’s love of sports has influenced both his personal and professional lives. In addition to coaching both high school and college sports teams, he has focused his research on statistical analysis within sports. He has taught at BYU for over three decades and has been praised by his students for preparing them for their future careers. Dr. Fellingham has over one hundred peer-reviewed works and continues to research Bayesian hierarchical models and their applications in sports and human performance.
