Sister Cheryl C. Lant was sustained as the 11th general president of the Primary during the April 2005 general conference. Her extensive Church service includes serving as a member of the Primary General Board, stake and ward Primary president, counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Young Women president, and Primary teacher.
Sister Lant studied early childhood development at Brigham Young University and has spent most of her adult life teaching children, both as a mother and as an educator.
Cofounder and coowner with her husband of Learning Dynamics Academic Preschool, she is also the cofounder and developer of Frontline Phonics, a beginning reading program.
Sister Lant and her husband, John, are the parents of nine children.
