Bradley P. Owens
Bradley P. Owens is a professor of business ethics in the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in human development and his MPA at BYU and then earned his master’s degree and his PhD in organizational behavior from the University of Washington. He pursued further education during a post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Owens’s research explores relational energy, ethical leadership, and the impact of a leader’s humility on individuals and teams. His work has been published in several journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, the Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, and Public Administration Review. His work has also been featured in popular media outlets such as the Harvard Business Review, Forbes, the Washington Post, Entrepreneur Magazine, and Men’s Health.
Throughout his career, Dr. Owens has received numerous accolades. Notably, he was awarded the Mid-Career Standout Scholar Award by the Network of Leadership Scholars at the Academy of Management in 2022 and the Distinguished Stuart L. Grow Faculty Fellow Award in 2017.
At BYU, Dr. Owens teaches courses in business ethics, organizational behavior, and leadership. Additionally, Dr. Owens is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of Management, the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship at the University of Michigan, and the Wheatley Institute at Brigham Young University.
