Adam T. Woolley is a professor in BYU’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. His scholarship focuses on the interface between miniaturization and biomolecules. He is the author or co-author of over 100 peer reviewed articles, has given more than 150 scientific presentations, and has received several patents related to his work.
Dr. Woolley graduated summa cum laude with a BS in chemistry from BYU in 1992. In 1997, he earned his PhD in chemistry from the University of California, Berkley. He did postdoctoral work at Harvard University for several years before moving back to Utah and joining BYU’s faculty in 2000. Dr. Woolley was promoted to associate professor in 2006 and then professor in 2010. In May of 2021, he began his term as the dean of Graduate Studies at BYU.
Dr. Woolley has served in a variety of callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is currently serving as the bishop of a YSA ward. He and his wife, Shannon, have four children and one grandson.
